The junction box or also called connection box, is an instrument that is found in all homes, these have a removable cover to facilitate their opening, usually these are placed recessed or external at the top of the wall or near from the roof for safety reasons, this seeks to make access difficult for children, although they are also placed there to avoid contact with water.
Function
The function of these boxes is to gather inside all the connections of a house. In this way, these boxes are responsible for keeping the cable assemblies that feed the different points of light and electrical appliances that work in the home protected. All connections in the system must have a connection in the electrical box, in which all the connections and derivations necessary to supply power are also made. Currently there are two types: plastic and metal. Plastic ones are usually a bit more fragile and can break during installation so they are not recommended. On the contrary, the metallic ones are robust and resistant and are generally used in important constructions since they have tips to be fixed safely and thus avoid future accidents.
